Minor Eugene Mashaw, Jr.

Funeral services for Minor Eugene Mashaw, Jr., 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Dr. Rocky Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Cemetery in Welcome, AR. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Minor was born May 18, 1934 in Merouge, Louisiana to Thelma Essley Morris and Minor Mashaw, Sr., and passed away on March 11, 2018. He graduated from Merouge High School in 1953 as valedictorian and Louisiana Tech University in 1957. Minor worked as an accountant for International Paper, GM, and Commercial National Bank. He was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church. He was loved by everyone that knew him. Minor was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 40 years, Vernell Smith Mashaw; son, Kelley E. Mashaw; infant daughter, Angela Mashaw; two sisters; and one brother. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ross Mashaw and wife Patricia; granddaughters, Katie Bozant and husband Andrew, Ashley Murray, and Essley Merrell and husband Jon; step granddaughter, Holly Wren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Minor as pallbearers will be Wade Martin, Rick Thorton, Tom Barrett, Todd Warrick, Phil Morris, and Bruce Johnson.
