Miriam "Cootsy" Elaine Cobbs Martin

KEITHVILLE, LA - Miriam Elaine Cobbs Martin "Cootsy", 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2016, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Funeral services for Cootsy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cootsy was born on October 19, 1947 in Pleasant Hill, LA to Raymond Orel Cobbs, Sr. and Lucy Pearl Smiddy Cobbs. Cootsy had many hobbies, including reading, selling Avon, baking and cooking, but most of all she loved taking care of and helping others. She adored her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and son, Bobby Martin. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Donnie Martin; daughter, Mary Talley; along with Becky Powell and C-Mo Martin; grandchildren, Tony Martin, Lacey Martin, Salenia Hoyt, Dylan Martin, Austin Martin, and Tyler Bass; great-granddaughter, Kynsleigh Martin, and soon to be great-grandson, Brody Smith; brothers, Raymond Cobbs and wife, Mary, and Tommy Cobbs; sisters, Judy Lee and Cindy Neathery, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Honoring Cootsy as pallbearers will be Austin Smith, Chad Cobbs, Caine Lee, Joe Harris, Allen Kellogg, and Trey Cobbs. Honorary pallbearers Tony Martin, Dylan Martin, Austin Martin, and Tyler Bass. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Willis-Knighton North and Jo Ellen Sellers for all the care, support and love they gave to our mother.
