Monette Hicks

SHREVEPORT, LA - Monette Green Hicks was born to Charlie and Eunice Green in Bernice, Louisiana on July 10, 1922 and passed away on August 2, 2015. She was educated at Louisiana Tech University and the University of Arkansas and was am elementary school teacher in Caddo Parish for many years. Monette was a long-time member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport where she was a dedicated member of the adult Sunday School class. She was also a gifted artist who enjoyed painting. Many of her paintings were given to her friends and family throughout the years. She also loved playing bridge. Monette in predeceased by her husband, Adam Hicks. She is survived by her family, Frances White, David White, Paul White and his wife, Cheryl, along with their children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., August 4, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
