Donald M. "Bob" Peters, 82, of Stonewall, Louisiana passed away in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Donald was born on October 29, 1932 in Shreveport, LA. Lovingly called Papaw by his grandchildren and Bob or Don by his friends, he was a friend to all. He never passed on an opportunity to help a neighbor or friend. He served his Country more than 30 years and retired as Master Sergeant from the United States Army. Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason and an El Karubah Shriner.
He will be missed by everyone but especially his Rock, Juanita, and his four legged companion, Abbie!
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Juanita Peters, son, Kevin and his wife, Lisa Peters, grandchildren, Whitney and her husband, Derrick Thomas, Grant Peters, Lynde Peters, Garrett Peters, great-grandchildren, Lilly Hardy and Luke Thomas, honorary son Brian Perry, mother-in-law Jimmie Strange, siblings, Leslie Ray and Dorothy Peters, Tom and Louise Peters, and Wanda Dann and many nieces, nephews, family friends, and special friend, Robert Durante.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Reverend Randy Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Waggoner, step-father, Whit Waggoner, and his wife of 35 years, Viola Peters.
Honoring Bob as pallbearers will be Robert Durante, Jack Ford, Derrick Thomas, Brian Perry, Michael Schutza, and Grant Peters.
