Murline Dean, 86, of Shreveport, passed peacefully from this life in her home on Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2018. Murline was born June 15, 1931 in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Her father was a welder, and as such, her family moved several times when she was a child. She told many stories of her times in California, but ultimately was a Louisiana girl. Murline was a graduate of Byrd High School. She married her true love and partner in this life, Ross Dean, on July 16, 1948. They spent 69 years together, full of laughter and joy, hard work, fishing, playing games, hosting backyard barbecues, visiting with friends, and loving their family. Murline was wonderfully skilled at crocheting and knitting, and made hundreds of beautiful items in her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her younger brother, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her son Danny; daughter DeLane Aaron and husband John; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She will be remembered fondly for her dedication to her family, her joyful laughter, and the love she shared with Ross.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Rose-Neath Southside.
