Minden, LA Murphy James Foster Bridges, II Murphy James Foster Bridges, II, loving husband, father, brother, son, and grandfather, passed away onJuly 29, 2015, from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Murphy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 30, 1959, and was a life-long resident of Minden, Louisiana. A gracious, fun-loving, and kind man, who always had a smile for everyone. Murphy was an internal auditor and for Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. Murphy loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, ultra-light flying, jet skiing and the study of guns. He liked working with his hands whether with wood or computers, and knew a roll of duct-tape could fix anything. Murphy was also an avid tennis player especially with his wife, Lisa. Murphy graduated from Haughton High School and Draughon Business College in Shreveport majoring in accounting and computer technology, and he also attended Northwestern State University. Murphy is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of over 30 years, Lisa Menard Bridges. his sons Aarin McBride Bridges and wife Jordan; proud "Pop-pop" to grandchildren, Liam, Seth, and Jude Bridges of Huntsville, TX; and Murphy "Jay" James Foster Bridges, III of Lake Charles his mother, Eugenia McBride Bridges of Minden his siblings, R. Hunter Bridges, III, and wife, Kandi of Baton Rouge; Dr. R. McIntyre Bridges, Jr., and wife Mary of Shreveport. His nieces, nephew, and great-nephew, Elizabeth M. Bridges of Baton Rouge; R McIntyre Bridges, III, of Shreveport; Rachel Bridges Barrett and husband, Jason, and great-nephew, Luke of Smyrna, TN; and Carrie E. Bridges and fiancé Jack Higdon of Baton Rouge, his brother-in-laws, Donald Menard of New Iberia; and Mark Menard and wife, Renee of Texas. Also along to cherish his memory are his uncle and aunts and their spouses and many beloved cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. R. McIntyre Bridges, Sr.; brother, Dr. William McBride Bridges; grandparents, R. Hunter Bridges Sr. and wife Polka McIntyre Bridges; Dr. William McGinty McBride Sr. and wife Annie Lou Sentell McBride. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the staff at Gamble Hospice in Minden for their loving guidance and compassionate care for Murphy and his family. The family request visiting hours be observed at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 211 Murrell Street, in Minden, on August 1,2015 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral service begins at 11:00 am with Rev. Phil McLarty and Rev. Tony Angell officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memory in Minden. Pallbearers will be R. Hunter Bridges II, Dr. R. McIntyre Bridges Jr., R. McIntyre Bridges III, Dannie Hooper, Murphy "Jay" James Foster Bridges III, Aarin McBride Bridges, Mike Waller. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter, P.O. Box 66825, Baton Rouge, LA 70896, or a charity of your choice.
