Myra S. Melder

Tree City, LA ~ On behalf of the Myra S. Melder Family and Trees Union Church, they want to let our surrounding community members know that Myra passed from this earth into the hands of Jesus on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 8:00 pm. You are cordially invited to attend her funeral and celebration of her life on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary of Trees Union Church with remarks and message from her pastor, Rev. John Parker, followed by a graveside service at the Vivian Cemetery. If you would like to send or bring food just deliver upon arrival time at 12:00 noon and enjoy dinner on the grounds with her family and friend reminiscing good times shared with Myra throughout her 95 years. Miss Melder was born in Linden, TX on March 1, 1919 to Daniel W. and Ebba House Melder. She was a member of Trees Union Church since 1926 and was the Post Master in Trees for 37 years. Miss Melder was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ebba Melder, sisters, Muriel Key, Pauline Singleton, Mollie Sheets; brothers, D. W. Melder, Jr and Marion Dan Melder. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Honoring Miss Melder as pallbearers will be Tommy Key, Ronnie Mercer, Jr., Matt Singleton, Teddy Barton, Jason Brownlee and Mike McFarland. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trees Union Church or the American Heart Association.
