A graveside service for Myrl "Butch" Alvin Hamlet, 74, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Tom Brown.
Myrl was born on August 14, 1946 in Portland, Oregon to Charles and Louise Hamlet and passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Myrl graduated from Woodlawn High School and went into the United States Air Force Reserves for one term. Myrl was a jack of all trades. He excelled in carpentry and automotive mechanics. He was an avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast.
Myrl is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Hamlet. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Williams and Holly Champion and husband, Gene; son, Jonathan Hamlet; sisters, Charlene Hamlet and wife, Tennille Abrams and Joy Birch and husband, Kenny; grandchildren, Tryston Fleming, Tryniti Hamlet, Kiley Jo Williams, Hunter Kelly, Hannah Champion, Tyler Hamlet and Mary Ashleigh Hamlet and his beloved fur-baby, Bella.
The family would like to express special thanks to Intensive Specialty Hospital Medical Staff for the care and compassion given to Myrl.
