Myrtis Mary Parmer

SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Myrtis Mary Parmer, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2015 at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, LA 71109. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Myrtis was born on March 15, 1926 in Orange County, TX and passed away from a lengthy illness on October 8, 2015. Myrtis loved the outdoors, and spent most of her time outside working in her garden. She came from a large family and was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her family and friends meant the world to her along with her little dog, Christy. Myrtis was also devoted to God and her church, St. Mary's of the Pines. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivey Joseph and Sadie Dehon Landry; husband, Henry Richard Parmer, Sr.; son, Henry Richard Parmer, Jr.; 9 brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ivey Ray Parmer and James Thomas Parmer; daughters, Janette Marie Parmer and Kathleen Ann Parmer Field; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Faye Richard, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to say a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Willis Knighton South for all the care they gave to Myrtis.
