Nancy Elizabeth Brewster

Nancy Elizabeth Brewster of Karnack, Texas passed away peacefully on March 5, 2018 at the age of 76. Nancy is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Farley Brewster and their three children: Keith C. Brewster, Christina Ruberry (David), and Lenora Brewster-Swiger (Ron). Her grandchildren include: Julie Bustos (Christopher), Christopher Schiller (Lisa), Shelby Erhard, Heather Schiller, Shelby Havinga (Jason), and Ronny Ruberry. She also has three great-grandchildren: Rhett and Cruz Bustos and Jackson Havinga. Her sisters, Ennis Dougherty and Bonnie Harvey and brother, Bobby Bryan are also left to cherish her memory. Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Hazel and Leslie Bryan; two infant grandsons, Dylan Brewster and Kyle Erhard; sisters, Lurleen McKissick, Jimmie Brewster, and Mary Jennings; and brothers, Richard Bryan and Louie Sanders. Nancy was a strong advocate for her deaf children and was involved with the PTA as a leader and volunteer, Ingleside Neighborhood Association, and the Caddo Country Farms Neighborhood Association. She also played and coached softball. Nancy, Mom, Grandma, Mamaw, Aunt, and Friend has left an indelible mark on our community; her actions and memory leave our world a brighter place. Many heartfelt thanks go to Janis Hudson for all her support and to Ruth Fontenot, Nancy's best friend. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Scott Jennings officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Rock Corner Baptist Church near Ruston, LA. Visitation with the family will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
