SHREVEPORT, LA - Nannie Mae Norder of Shreveport, Louisiana, was a true southern belle from the day she was born, December 7, 1932 until the day she passed away July 25, 2016. Known to many as "Nancy" she took her very last breath in this world holding the hand of her best friend and husband of 61 years, Gerald Webb Norder Sr.
Nancy was born in Union, Mississippi to Roger and Iva Mae Cox. She loved dearly her two brothers Laverne, and Roger "Butch" Cox. Nancy is survived by her husband Gerald Webb Norder Sr. and her son, Gerald Webb Norder Jr. and his wife Deborah of Shreveport, Louisiana, who cared for her during her battle with Parkinson's disease. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Norder Stough and husband Parker Stough, of Lafayette, Louisiana and Mariah Norder of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her brothers Laverne Cox and his wife Janice as well as Roger "Butch" Cox and his wife Patsy also live on to tell of her grace. She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Iva Mae Cox and her son Russell Norder.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Nannie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Crosby officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the funeral home.
