Naomi June Hurst SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Naomi June Hurst, known to her friends and family as June, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Northwoods Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Service will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Smith and Jason Taylor. June was born on June 7, 1934 in Selma, LA to Nettie Bernice Mott Armstrong and Marvin E. Armstrong. She went to be with her Lord Jesus on December 19, 2015 at the age of 81. June will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ira L. Hurst, at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport. June was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Shirley Lawrence; granddaughter, Andrea Hartley and great-granddaughter, Addyson Copeland. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patti Hartley and husband Milton; son, Richard Hurst and wife Laura; grandchildren, Lisa Webb, Caren McKee, Stephenie Taylor, Jamie Baughman, Amanda Lawrence, Melissa Rogers and Kelly Lawrence and 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. June was an active member of Northwoods Baptist Church and a member of North Highland Women's Club. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She exhibited love and compassion to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her. The family will be receiving friends for visitation at Rose-Neath, Bossier from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015.
