Nelda Fern Godfrey Peters

Nelda Fern Godfrey Peters, age 85, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on July 10, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Boney and Kate Godfrey.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Graveside services honoring the life of Nelda will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Greg Walker.

Nelda grew up in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. She loved traveling to many places; her favorite paradise was the beach. She was known as the chef of the family with her delicious cooking. Nelda will be most remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She showed immense love and support for her son, never missing a sporting event. Nelda loved her family, and she was inseparable from her husband. Whether it was at home or working together, if you saw her, you seen Mr. Peters!

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Tom Paul Peters; sisters, Ivory Nelson and Florence Hollowell; and brother, Harold R. Godfrey. Left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeffrey Peters and wife Angelique; brother, Lorie Godfrey; grandchildren, Haley Peters and Sydney Peters; great-grandchild, Maverick Gondran.
