SHREVEPORT, LA - A graveside service for Mrs. Nelly Johnson Brewster, 95, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue. Officiating will be Rev. Mimi McDowell. Nelly was born on August 3, 1919 in Minden, La. She passed away December 6, 2014. Nelly retired after teaching 30 years in the Caddo Parish School System. She served the Lord and worshipped through Noel Memorial United Methodist Church. She was the oldest surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by parents, and her husband, Harry L. Brewster III. She is survived by her son, Harry Brewster IV and wife, Eva; daughter, Charlene Montgomery and husband, Richard; nephew, Dean Johnson; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
