Nola Lawrence

BOSSIER CITY, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Nola Rideau Lawrence will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Msgr. Earl Provenza. Entombment will follow at Forest Part Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be prior to the service Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity. Nola was born to Wallace and Gustavia Rideau in LeBeau, LA and passed away August 18, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. Nola was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She received her under-graduate degree from Grambling State University and was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority while at Grambling. She received her Master's from Northeast University and 30+ from LA Tech and Centenary College. Nola retired as a teacher with the Caddo Parish School Board after over 33 years. In addition, she was an educational advisor, secretary, and served on the Board of Directors for the Fundamentals of Martial Arts Program and Commissioner in Charge for the Bossier Parish Voting Precincts Her parents precede her in death. Nola's memory will be cherish by her son, Julian R. Lawrence of Jermyn, PA; sisters, Dorothy Collins of Corona, CA, Bernice Bubner of Hawthorne, CA, Helen Rideau of Prairieville, LA, Ceil Cowan of Bossier City, , Meredith Lucius of Shreveport, LA and Jeanie Jenkins of Irving, TX' special friends, Dr. Bob Walker and Barbara Walker; grandson, Alexander Isaac Lawrence and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the charity of donor's choice.
