Nora Pauline Richey went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born January 27, 1930, in Simpson, Louisiana, to Leon Douglas Richey and Alpha Bennett Richey. She graduated from Byrd High School in May 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana and married Charles Ellis Mabry on October 22, 1949. They were stationed at various locations while he served in the Air Force and eventually returned to Louisiana, where they raised their daughter, Diana Lynn Mabry.
Pauline had various interests. She was a bookkeeper at Thoman’s in Shreveport for several years, and in the early 1980’s, she and her husband became owners of Liston’s Furniture Store in Marshall, Texas. She also served as an active member of the Pink Ladies with Good Shepherd Hospital in Marshall, Texas where she usually volunteered in the gift shop of the hospital, serving more than 25 years.
She loved being involved in her church, and participated in many ways. She was a dedicated teacher for the 6th grade Sunday School class for many years. She also loved singing in the church choir and was a devoted member of the Ladies’ Sunday School class. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas for 40 years.
She enjoyed playing the piano, reading her Bible, or gathering with friends and family during the holidays, or playing a game of dominoes.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Leon Richey.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia Hagedorn, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and one daughter, Diana Mabry Bagley and her husband, Terry, of Fairfield, Texas. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brian Bagley and wife, Rebekah, of Fairfield, Texas, Robin McGee and husband, Matt, of Nassau Bay, Texas, and Lauren Hall and husband, Jon, of Lufkin, Texas; as well as eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jon Hall, Matt McGee, Dee Mabry, Mike Mabry, Norman Mabry and Bill Bagley.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by her son, Brian Bagley, with Price Harris assisting. Interment will follow the funeral at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport.
