Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Norma Jean Curry Savage, age 85, at Holly Ridge Assembly of God, 857 Holly Ridge Road, Haynesville, LA, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rodney Gray, officiating. Interment will be at Holly Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.

Mrs. Norma was born July 27, 1939, in Dermont, AR, to Ben and Amy Brown Curry. She entered into rest on September 3, 2024, in Summerfield, LA. Mrs. Norma was employed at Linder Motor Lodge and Restaurant as a desk clerk for many years. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior alongside her husband who was pastor in several churches in Louisiana. Mrs. Norma was a fervent prayer warrior interceding for her family and friends daily. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and plants. Mrs. Norma loved and cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Christmas was a special time for Mrs. Norma, she started cooking days before as it was always celebrated at her house with all the family present making lots of good memories. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Savage; daughter, Amy Nell Richard; two brothers, David Curry and Bobby Curry; a life-long friend, Elease Bailey.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Gray and husband Keith of Summerfield, LA; two sisters, Georgia Jarvis and husband Billy of Banks, AR, and Mary Vines and husband Tim of Hermitage, AR; four grandchildren, Tabbatha Keough, Benjamin Deshotel and wife Dani, Dwayne Gray and wife Missy, and Bridgette Gray; nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Hannah, Ayden, Dixie, Kate, Zachary, Kaleb, and Elijah; a great-great-grandchild, Kash; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Savage’s family would like to express their gratitude to Denise Butler, NP, and Dr. Salmon, Claiborne Home Health, and a very special “Thank You’” to Passages Hospice for the care and compassion shown her during her final days.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Deshotel, Dwayne Gray, Austin Keough, Taylor Keough, Ayden Deshotel, and Zachary Gray. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Waterman and TJ Carter.
