Florien, LA-Funeral services for Norman J. Green of Florien, LA will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10am at Union Baptist Church in Florien, LA. Bro. John Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 6 until 8 pm. Norman was born on March 12, 1936 in DeRidder, LA. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2015 while in the Critical Care Unit at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA after his heart proved to no longer be strong enough to sustain life. He was preceded in death by his parents Hershel & Annie Green of DeRidder, daughter Rhôna-Regina Green, brother-in-law Gerald Moses and nephew Tim Moses. He is survived by his sister Barbara Moses of DeRidder, daughter Sheri Yates of Leonard, TX, son Reginald Green of Many, daughter Veronica Winchester of Baton Rouge, daughter Jessica Green of Natchitoches, daughter Lanetta Green of Lake Charles, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two great-nieces and two great-nephews. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Reginald Green, Chad Winchester, Shannon Moses, Rory Boyette, Tim Weldon, and Noah Barnhill. Ralph Matthews will serve as honorary pallbearer. Per the request of the family any extra potted plants received for Mr. Green will be given to the residents of the local nursing homes of Sabine Parish as they know Mr. Green never missed an opportunity to bless someone else if he could.
