SHREVEPORT, LA - Services to celebrate the life of Ora Estelle (Biddy) Hanson, 94, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Comeaux of the Oaks and Tony Nations, pastor of Central Christian Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the funeral home.
Ora was born to John Grady Murray, Sr. and Venetia Deaton Murray on June 6, 1920 in Homer, LA and passed away at Willis-Knighton Pierremont on November 20, 2014. She was a member of Central Christian Church and was retired as owner and bookkeeper of Engine Piston Ring Service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Mathie; son, Gary, sister, Elizabeth Shields; and brothers, J.G., Edward, Alvin, Billy, and Melvin Murray. Ora is survived by her sons, Ronney Hanson and wife Phyllis, and Artie Hanson; daughter, Jenny McGrath and husband Dave; grandchildren, Chad and Evelyn Hanson, Kurt and Erin Hanson, Kimberly McGrath, and Mathie and Laura McGrath; great-grandchildren, Logan, Mason, Hunter, Hayden, and Hailey; brother, Maj. Gen. Richard Murray; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Honoring Ora as pallbearers will be Chad Hanson, Mathie McGrath, Kurt Hanson, Dennis Murray, Tommy Murray, Baron Shields, Al Murray, and Ronnie Jones.
The family would like to thank The Oaks for all the comfort, love, and care given to our Mom for the past 10 years. She loved all of you and loved her Bingo. Mom devoted her whole life to her family.
Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Angels Residential Facility, 10450 Ellerbe Road., Shreveport, La. 71106 in memory of Ora Hanson, in honor of her granddaughter, Kim McGrath.
