Orville Dean Steadman, age 76, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Orville was born on February 15, 1944 in Hope, AR to parents Orville Ray and Lois Hanson Steadman.
Orville retired from General Electric Transformer plant in Shreveport, LA where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City and a member of Sunset Masonic Lodge. Orville was a Vietnam veteran who served his country while in the Air Force.
Orville is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Catherine Wright. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, JaVonna Goad Steadman; son, Hal Steadman and wife Sonya of Benton, LA; two daughters, Karen Steadman of Bossier City and Margaret Shelton and husband Richard of Queen City, Texas; two grandsons, Connor Steadman and Bryson Shelton; two granddaughters, Victoria Steadman and Hallie Steadman; sister, Judy Tompkins and her family of Arkansas.
The family will have a private visitation at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, with a private burial to follow at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville. A memorial service for Orville will be announced at a later date.
