Ouida Tyler Lowe was born on December 31, 1918 to the late Jessie Spears Dick Stovall and Joe Stovall in the Hunter Community near Logansport, Louisiana and died on January 17, 2018 at age 99 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Henderson, Texas. She graduated from Oak Grove (now Stanley) High School and married James E. (Scooter) Tyler who was the father to her three daughters, Jean, Jo Ann, and Gail. She was first and foremost a homemaker and mother. She also was a creative cook, a skilled seamstress and craftsperson, and an avid reader and gardener. For a brief time, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" in Fort Worth, Texas during WWII. She married Mike Lowe in 1963 and had a 37 year marriage until his death in 2000. They enjoyed many years of traveling and camping in their RV. She resided in Logansport until 2001 at which time she moved to Lindale, Texas and then to Tatum, Texas in 2009 to be closer to her daughters. The last five and a half years of her life she was under the loving care of the staff at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Whiddon of Hideway, Texas and Gail Jones and husband Donald of Tatum. She has three grandchildren, Rodney Whiddon of Hideway, Melissa McClung of Henderson and Tyler Jones (Erica) of Dallas; step grandsons, Jeff Jones (Mamie) of Memphis, TN and Cody Jones (Debbie) of Tatum, TX. There are three great grandchildren, Liam and Forrest Whiddon and Reese Jones, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jo Ann McClung, sons-in-law, Abner Whiddon and Howard Lloyd, and J.B. Dick and their spouses.
