Patricia Fortenberry

Funeral services for Patricia Fortenberry, 77, will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother David Radford.

Patricia was born on January 20, 1947, to James Curtis Lowrey and Margie Alexander in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Patricia’s academic journey culminated in a bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. This foundation paved the way for a fulfilling career at the LSU Medical Center, where she served as the Chancellor's secretary. 

Upon her retirement, Patricia embraced her community with love and grace. She became an integral member of the "Cool Ladies" group, where she spread God's love and joy. This commitment to uplifting those around her exemplified her character, reflecting her deep faith and compassion.

In her personal life, Patricia cherished her hobbies, finding joy in crocheting and cross-stitching. These crafts brought her not only relaxation but also a way to express her creativity. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles were her greatest reward.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, G.C. Fortenberry; parents, F.A. and Margie Tibbits, and her son, Jerry Fortenberry. She is survived by her sons, Jonathan Thompson, Stephen Thompson and wife, Leigh Ann, Jason Fortenberry and wife, Jenna, and Dan Fortenberry; daughter, Theresa Fortenberry; grandchildren, Stephen Geary, Stephanie Bailey, Meighan Kapke, Emily Thompson, Christopher Fortenberry, Jerry Fortenberry, Timothy Fortenberry, Lauren Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Benjamin Fortenberry, and Emersyn Fortenberry; numerous great-grandchildren, cousins and extended family and her cherished fur babies.

Honoring Patricia as pallbearers will be Barry LaPrarie, Bryan Montgomery, Dan Thompson, John Burns, Trey Luce, and Zack Southwell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Thompson, Daniel Thompson, and Benjamin Fortenberry.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Leilabadi and the trauma surgical team at Ochsner /LSU Hospital.
