Patricia Elliot Graham

Patricia Elliott Graham, lovingly known as “MiMi”, departed this life peacefully surrounded by her family on September 8, 2024 at the age of 91. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Born on July 14, 1933, in Rapides Parish, Patricia grew up in Glenmora, LA, surrounded by the love of her mother, Nora Kavanaugh Elliott and family.

Patricia met her husband, William H. “Billy” Graham from Port Sulfur, LA at a revival at Harmony Baptist Church in Glenmora, LA. As the devoted wife of an Army Chaplain and later a Baptist preacher, she exemplified unwavering faith and service to others. Academically, she excelled in her studies at Louisiana College. For 20 years, Patricia worked as a medical secretary.

She shared her love of gardening, sewing, and singing with everyone. Her kitchen was always filled with the aromas of delicious meals prepared with love for her family. How we wish we would have written down her recipes. She looked forward to serving others during the summer at Dry Creek Baptist Camp. She spent her last six years relying on the support of caretakers, yet never lost her spirit of joy and gratitude. You could always hear her saying, “Thank you and God bless you.”

Patricia was a woman of profound faith, who cherished her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She shared her faith openly, prayed fervently for those around her, and filled her room at The Oaks of Louisiana Health Care Center with joyful songs for all who visited. “Where Will You Spend Eternity” is a hymn she shared with all, a question she would ask anyone. Now, she is rejoicing in heaven with the Lord and singing praises with her new voice.

Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Nora Elliott; father, Lawsie Elliott; husband, William H. “Billy” Graham; son, Charles William Graham; grandson, William Tyler Graham, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Hanley and husband, Don of Bossier City, LA, Cynthia Sadler and husband, Brenner of Alexandria, La AND Kymberly Muirhead and husband, Ray of Warrenton, VA; brothers, Larry Elliott and Gary Elliott and wife, Sharon as well as her grandchildren, Terry Hanley, Karyn Minnix, Patricia Moock, Jordan Muirhead, Lindsay Peyton, Briggs Sadler, Patrick Sadler, and Cason Wilkinson. She also leaves behind 16 cherished great-grandchildren.

Patricia will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, and the love she freely shared. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Friends and family will be invited to join together to honor her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind. We will miss our daily,

“I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at The Live Oaks of Louisiana, Pam Lee, Brittany, Ashley and Shirley and many others. A special thank you to the Caring Angels of Life Path Hospice for the excellent love and care that they unselfishly gave to our mother.

Matthew 25:21 “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”
