Patricia Portero Mondello

Patricia J. Mondello SHREVEPORT, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia J. Portero Mondello, 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle and Father Charles Glorioso. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans Parish Hall. A vigil service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with a visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel. Patricia was born on June 24, 1929 to Joseph and Rosa Farina Portero and passed away on May 25, 2016. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, a devoted Catholic who attended St. Joseph's Church. Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Patricia retired from Dillard's. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dora Fertitta, Josephine Giro, and Ann Catanese; brothers, Tony Portero and Charlie Portero. Patricia is survived by her sons, Sammy Mondello and wife Dianne, Randy Mondello; daughter, Debbie Mondello Shaw; grandchildren, Brian Mondello, Dana Mondello Ivins and husband Alex, Kelley Shaw Jones and husband Brad, Ronald Chad Shaw and Brandy; great-grandchildren, Austin Jones, Averie Jones, Alex "Trace" Ivins III, Samuel Tyler Ivins, and Max Henry Ivins; sister, Rosemary McCawley; and brother, Joe Portero. Honoring Patricia as pallbearers will be Anthony Catanese, Chad Shaw, Brian Mondello, Mark McCawley, Joseph Bonds, and Paul Giro. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Brad Jones and Tony Joe Portero Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. David Abdehou, the staff at Willis-Knighton, and the staff at the Grace Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 211 Atlantic Ave., Shreveport, LA 71105.
