Patricia was born March 12, 1948, in Central Falls, Rhode Island to George and Jeanne Kennedy. She grew up in Providence, Rhode Island where she graduated from Memorial Hospital School of X-Ray. She worked as an X-Ray technician in doctor’s offices and hospitals across the country including Highland Hospital. She was a resident of Shreveport 1984-1996 and relocated here again in 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeanne Kennedy of Rhode Island. She is survived by her children, Tracie Turner Booras and husband, Steven and Colonel Jason Turner and wife, Samantha of South Carolina; her sisters, Karen Kennedy-Santos and husband, Jose Santos and Brenda Kennedy, both of South Carolina, and her three grandchildren, Matthew Booras of Shreveport, Mollie Turner and Sarah Turner both of South Carolina.
Tricia had a love for animals and pets. She loved spending time watching her grandchildren at their many school and sporting events. She found great peace and tranquility with beautiful sunsets and always capturing a picture of the moment. Her other passions and hobbies included arts and crafts – she loved knitting for herself and local charitable organizations, creating decorative wreaths and jewelry along with decorating for each holiday during the year. She found great joy at the Shreveport Little Theatre and The Strand as a volunteer usher.
Honoring Patricia as pallbearers will be Matthew Booras, Athan Cosse, Michael Cosse, Stefan Cosse, and Jacques Breaux.
The family of Tricia wishes to praise the work of the Willis Knighton Pierremont Stroke Unit nursing staff for their relentless dedication and commitment to her care. Special appreciation also to the staff and nurses of The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice for the time they spent with Tricia, and the care they gave during the heartbreaking final moments of her life.
Mom, everyone you left in this world is saddened that you are gone but we are happy that you are free of pain, with no worries.
