STONEWALL, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Patsy Moss McFerren, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Rev. John Harp and Rev. Mike Stowell will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Patsy was born on January 14, 1935 in Provencal, LA to George and Hattie Moss, and passed away after a brief illness. Patsy graduated from Northwestern State College where she earned her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was an elementary school teacher in Caddo Parish over 20 years, where she worked at Eden Gardens and Forest Hill elementary school. During her time as an educator, she touched many hearts and throughout her life showed others the way of the Lord. Patsy was a longtime member of Brookwood Baptist Church where she served God faithfully, raised her family and enjoyed her Sunday school class and friends. She never hesitated to share her unceasing faith and an abundance of kindness. Her quiet strength and ability to give hope and spread happiness were gifts that made her a true blessing. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, George Hubert and Hattie Chance Moss and brother, Gerald Wayne Moss. Those left to treasure her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Johnny Clinton McFerren; son, Scott Clinton McFerren and wife, Lori; daughter, Karen Beth McFerren; grandchildren, Justin Michael Penn, Scott Clinton McFerren, Jr., Beau Darren McFerren; great-grandchildren, Cora Marie Penn, Michael Reid Penn and John Hardin Von Penn; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Honoring Patsy as pallbearers will be Justin Michael Penn, Scott Clinton McFerren, Jr., Beau Darren McFerren, David Parish, Michael McFerren, Marty Moss, Jackie Birdwell, and Jeff McFerren. The family would like to send thanks and love to the ladies of her Brookwood Baptist Sunday School Class and to Mildred Henson and Shirley Murphy who took such wonderful care of Patsy. "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
