SHREVEPORT, LA - Peradine Elizabeth Ogle Ketchum Bains went to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven, on Sunday, October 25, 2015. The family will receive visitors at Rose-Neath Southside, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., October 29, 2015 at Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, 610 Haynes Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Anderson of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, and Rev. John Rabo of First Church of the Nazarene. She was born on December 22, 1928 in DeQueen, AR. She spent her early years in DeQueen and moved to Shreveport, LA in 1941. She was a member of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church and taught a bible class at The Bloom. Elizabeth graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1947. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Southwest Texas University, San Marcos, TX. And her Masters of Elementary Education from L.S.U. Shreveport. Her most favorite degree of all was that of becoming a Mother after being married 16 years. She enjoyed teaching elementary children for 31 years. Elizabeth was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church and had served as choir member, Sunday school Music Director, Music Director and Teacher at Shrine Hospital for years. She was a member and P.M. of OES No. 187, PHP. Bethel Shrine No. 2 White Shrine, Past Queen of Daughters of the Nile, Khafra Temple No. 121, Member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Jesterette unit, Past President Pilot Club of Shreveport, Past President Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Zeta Chapter of Marshall, TX, Past Dept. of LA Commander of DAVA, Past Commander of DAVA Unit 30, Noac #398, Koran American Legion Auxiliary, Past President ABWA or Noir Chapter, Past President of San Marcos Baptist Assn. WMU, Life Member of Shreveport Symphony, Tops LA 139 and P.M. of Amaranth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Louis Ray Ketchum, Sr. and her beloved husband of 3 ½ years, John Calvin Bains, Sr. Her parents, Fred Clarence and Theo Peradine Price Ogle. She is survived by her son, Louis Ray Ketchum, Jr., and wife, Sandra Jean Lee Ketchum; granddaughter, Candace Jean Ketchum Impson and husband, Jeff; grandson, Louis Ray Ketchum III; great-granddaughter, Victoria Jean Impson; great-grandson, Dylan Pierce Impson; brother, Clarence Orville Ogle and wife, Hayriye. She is also survived by John Calvin Bains, Jr., Jo Baker and husband, Johnny, David Bains and wife, Sue, Ruth Offholter, Debbie Cook and husband, Mike; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Next to her Lord, Elizabeth loved her family. Honoring Elizabeth as pallbearers will be Jim Adams, Mike Cook, Scott Cook, John Counts, Charles Duke, and Chris Temple. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses that have taken such great care of, and also the many friends and family for their support during her lengthy illness. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, The Gideon's or the charity of your choice.
