Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Peggy Horton-Giles, 83, will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will follow on the grounds of Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Howe and Pastor Kelly Burne. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
Peggy was born in Glen Aline, North Carolina March 28, 1931. Her parents were Annie and Frank Stacy and her brother was Frank Curtis Stacy, Jr. She attended college at Woman's College of The University of NC, Lenoir Rhyne University, and LSU-S.
She was an avid bridge player, liked to read and traveled to Europe, Russia, Asia, British Isles, etc.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel Fuller Horton and Jerry Francis Giles; sons, David Curtis Horton and Richard Fuller Horton. She is survived by two sons: Frank and Valerie, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Steven, Katherine, and Anna; son, Mark and Patti, of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Connor and Kendall.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Harmon, Larry Earnest, Henry Cantrell, Gus Grassi, Bob Ireland, and Leroy Winans. Additional pallbearers include her sorority sisters and bridge club members whom she loved dearly: Beverly Earnest, Grace Ireland, Barbara Cantrell, Charlotte Davis, Shirly Winans, Evelyne Eppeison, Connie Harmon, Doris Grassi, Edna Lennard, and Lois Hartman.
