Shreveport, La- Funeral service for Philip Houston Hancock, 79, will be held at 12 noon Friday, January 9, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Huffman. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
Philip was born on April 12, 1935 in Phoenix, Mississippi to Fonville Leon and Mittie Sanders Hancock. He passed away on January 7, 2015. He was a resident of Shreveport and a member of University Church of Christ. He was a retired service manager from a Ford Dealership.
He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Sidney Nix Hancock, sisters, Martha Hancock Warrington and Vera Hancock Williams. He is survived by daughters, Debra Lincoln and husband, David, and Toni Green and husband, Dewayne, grandchildren, Misti Johnson and husband, Tim, Dustin Lincoln and wife, Stefanie, Holly Donaldson and husband, Stephen, Clay Green, and Brant Green, great-grandchildren, Hayden Donaldson, Lainey Johnson, Cole Johnson, Haley Lincoln, brother, Harold Hancock and wife, Glenda.
The family would like to say a special thanks to sister-in-law, Ruth Tuminello and friend Eddie Jackson, for their loving visits. In addition, the family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and nurse, Courtney Mooney, and the caregivers for their special love and care.
