Funeral services for Philip James Leon, Sr., 72, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Jerry Waren officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Philip was born April 11, 1946 in Shreveport, LA to Joseph and Angelina Leon and went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2018 in Ringgold. He retired from the City of Shreveport Water Department after 38 years. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. The most important thing in his life was Jesus Christ, who he came to know at the age of 28. His priority in life was to take every opportunity he had to share Christ. The love in his life was his wife and three boys. He left his family with everything they needed in life.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Leon. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Gloria Leon; children, Jerry Waren, Philip James Leon, Jr., and Vincent Paul Leon, Sr.; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Philip as pallbearers will be Jerry Waren, Philip James Leon, Jr., Vincent Paul Leon, Sr., Paul Leon, Hunter Leon, and Devan Jordan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steve Leon, Karl Leon, Michael Johnson, and Chris Leon.
