SUMMERFIELD, LA: Memorial services were held for Mr. Philip Verdin, Sr., 64, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Nutt, officiating. Mr. Verdin was born August 15, 1951 in Bourg, LA to Miguel C. and Angelina Creppel Verdin. He entered into rest on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home in Summerfield, LA. Mr. Verdin was self-employed as a truck driver. Mr. Verdin was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan Kern Verdin; 4 sons, Philip "Nu" Verdin, Jr. and wife Tammi, their children Trent Verden, Blake Verdin and Landon Verdin of Lisbon, LA, Jeff Verdin and wife Tracy, their children Zach Verdin and wife Ashley, Aubrey Verdin, and their grandchildren Ayeden, Kinley and Sailor of Summerfield, LA, Chad Verdin and wife Mandy and their daughter Daisy of Summerfield, LA and Thad "Punkin" Verdin and his daughters Destiny Sartor and Savanna Sartor and grandchild, Bentley of Farmerville, LA; 3 brothers, Lucien and wife Bobbie Verdin of Bell Vista, LA, Charles Verdin and wife Cheryl of Chackbay, LA, Randy Verdin of Morgan City, LA; 6 sisters, Annie Perronne, Regina Candies both of Thibodaux, LA, Mary Verdin of Pointe-Aux-Chen, LA, Loraine and husband Neal McClelland of Junction City, LA, Ella Thurmon and husband Mickey of Spearsville, LA, Kathy Sweet of Junction City, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Verdin, his family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude.
