Penny was loving, generous and kind. She had an infectious laugh and was quick to smile. She loved spending time with family and friends. Penny never met a stranger and opened her heart and home to one and all. She was an avid fisherman, a ferocious bingo player, and loved playing a variety of games.  Penny was a mom and mawmaw to family and friends and a loving wife and sister. She will be sorely missed, as she was one of a kind and loved by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Harold Mellott; brothers, Norris “Binky” Perkins and Bryce Perkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughters, Tammy Rhodes and Bridget Rhodes; grandsons, Morgan Kimbrough and Jonthan Gourdon; great-grandchildren, Matthew Lowery and Vincent Lowery; sister, Terry Kelley; brother, Ronald Perkins; nieces and nephews, David Baham, Leslie Perkins, Yolanda Sonnier, Dusty Rhodes, and Robin Collins; and numerous other extended family and friends.
