Priscilla Ida (St. Thomas) Bogart, born on May 22, 1942, in Massena, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was 82 years old.
She was born, the eldest of three girls, to Beatrice and James St. Thomas of Massena, New York. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She and her sisters, Arloyne Brodeur, and Linda Doyle remained close through life's adventures.
Priscilla’s life was defined by her dedication to family and her remarkable talents. In her early years, she worked as a nurse’s aide while raising her young children. Later, she drove a school bus for 26 years, becoming a familiar and friendly face in her community.
Her true passion was sewing—a skill she began at the age of five and carried throughout her life. Priscilla created countless items for her family and others: clothing, quilts for babies and veterans, Halloween costumes, wedding dresses, and even dog beds for shelter animals. Sewing was not just a craft but an expression of her love and generosity.
Priscilla was married twice and loved deeply in both unions. Her first marriage was to Edward James O'Neill, with whom she raised five children: Edward O'Neill (wife Jodi), Shawn O'Neill (wife Jeanette), Kathleen O'Neill (partner Jim), Shannon Koveleskie (husband Daniel), and Erin O'Neill. She later found love again with her second husband, Burton F. Bogart.
She was a proud grandmother to Conor O’Brien, Casey O'Brien, Colin O'Neill (Estefania), Patrick O'Neill, Emily Phillips (Tristan), Landon Koveleskie, Amanda Koveleskie, Sullivan Koveleskie, and Catherine Koveleskie. She was so pleased to be made a Great-grandmother with the recent birth of Tatum Phillips.
In her later years, Priscilla embraced change with courage. At the age of 68, after being widowed and welcoming her youngest grandchildren into the world, she left the snowy winters of New York to retire in Louisiana.
She found her Southern "home" in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved her church family deeply and felt loved and treasured in return.
Priscilla’s legacy is one of resilience, creativity, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
