GREENWOOD, LA - Memorial service for Ralph Cleveland (Sonny) Silman III, 64, will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Rose-Neath\'s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Alan Pittman. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the funeral home. Sonny was born on November 26, 1949 in Uniontown, PA and passed away July 25, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He grew up in Leavittsburg, OH, but moved to Louisiana with General Motors, where he was a Supervisor for 38 years. He loved drag racing (NHRA and IHRA) until his health forced his retirement. He was preceded in death by parents, Ralph C. and Loretta Silman and son, Gregory Silman. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Barri Silman; son, Brad Silman; daughter, Melissa Silman; grandchildren, Owen and Reece Cofer; his dog, Dixie; sister, Sissy Silman (Leonard Moxham); brother, Robert Silman (Brenda); numerous nieces and nephews; friends, Terry Brown, Danny Mitchell and Kenny Birch.
