SHREVEPORT, LA - A graveside service celebrating the life of Randall Floyd Strait, 77, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Karl Klaus. There will be a reception to follow at the home of Brett and Karen Walker.
Randy was born March 13, 1941 in Harrisonville, PA to Marden Elizabeth Deshong Strait and Floyd Decker Strait and passed away at his residence on April 27, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He served in the United States Air Force. Randy was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Northwood Country Club Men's Golf Association. He also loved to fish mostly on Lake O' the Pines and Caddo Lake. He retired as co-owner of S&W Supply in Shreveport, LA.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cherie Kaye Strait, and sister, June Strait Winters. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Judith Navarre Strait of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Karen Strait Walker and husband Brett Lee Walker of Shreveport, LA; brothers, Woodrow Strait and wife Joycelene of Harrisonville, PA, Dean Strait of McConnellsburg, PA, Jack Strait of Harrisonville, PA, Terry Strait and wife Cindy of Everett, PA; Judy Strait of Indiana; granddaughter, Emma Ridley Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Paul Barber, Jerry Barnett, Robert Mueller, Mark Wooldridge, Paul Davis, Brett Walker, Huey Wallace and Peter Douglas.
The family would like to give special thanks to Willis-Knighton Hospice staff and especially Ms. Lucy Grove, and his sitter Lisa Birdsong for the care and compassion to Randy during his illness.
