Randall S. Thomas

GREENWOOD, LA - Memorial services for Randall Staton "Randy" Thomas, 63, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Randy was born September 10, 1953 in Ringgold, LA to Staton Jackson Thomas and Floyce Watts Thomas, and passed away on April 24, 2017. Randy proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He worked for AT&T for 20 years. Randy received his Associates Degree in Nursing from Northwestern University in Shreveport and worked at Willis-Knighton hospital for 22 years. As a nursing supervisor, he had a passion for helping people. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; loved working in his garden and being outdoors. He was a huge fan of baseball and loved the Texas Rangers. The greatest love of Randy's life was his family, especially spending time with his grandkids and watching them play baseball. Randy's daughters, Tanya and Kelly, were his pride and joy. For everybody that knew Randy, he could be grumpy and straight forward but had a heart of gold. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Staton Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Floyce Hahn; his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Paula Wagner Thomas; daughters, Tanya Smith and husband, Scott Smith II, and Kelly Shepherd and husband, Kevin Shepherd; his precious grandchildren, Kelsie Smith, Landon Smith, Hadley Smith, Preston Leone, Jace Shepherd, and Kayla Shepherd; sister, Tami Linebarger and husband, Joe Linebarger; along with numerous extended family, friends and his Willis-Knighton Family. Randy touched many lives through the years and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
