Graveside services honoring the life of Raymond Lee Burr will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Highland Cemetery located in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Toby Shaw. A visitation with the family will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Raymond was born on October 11, 1945 in Minden, Louisiana to J.W. "Jim" Burr and Carrie Burr. He entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana. Raymond spent his life in Mansfield where he worked as a garment plant sewing machine mechanic. He was a self-taught gunsmith and owned a gun and sewing machine repair shop. Raymond retired from being a Sheriff's Deputy, a DeSoto Parish School Bus Driver, and lastly, owning a hay baling service. Raymond was an avid deer, turkey, and squirrel hunter. He enjoyed hunting with his friends most of all. He was a hard worker, but to him it was enjoyment. Raymond's greatest love of all was his family. He loved as hard as he worked. Preceding him in death are his parents, J.W. "Jim" Burr and Carrie Burr; sisters, Winnie Armstrong, Clarice Dee Ward, and Bernice Weeks; brothers, J.W. Burr Jr, Jimmy Burr, Thomas Burr, Louis Burr, and Roy Burr; son-in-law, Loyd Foster. He is survived by his wife, Diane Binning Burr; son, Raymond Dale Burr and wife Michelle; daughter, Yvette Foster; stepdaughter, Holly Castillo and husband Wendell; grandchildren, Joseph Foster Ashley Hamberg, Crystal Drake, Jessica Bolton and Justin Burr, along with four great-grandchildren. Honoring Raymond as pallbearers will be G.W. Hatcher, Roy Burr, Rodney Arbuckle, Jordan Jones, Greg Dyess, and Scott Maines. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Binning, Harold "Tubb" Ford, and Gary Calhoun.
