Raymond Joseph Shaver

Shreveport, LA - A Graveside service honoring Raymond Joseph Shaver, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery, Keithville, LA, with Pastor Carlton Gilmer officiating. Raymond was born on February 23, 1937 and died on April 16, 2018. Joe loved the honor of serving in the United States Navy and was also an educator, pastor and mentor to many who respected and loved him. More than anything Joe loved sharing the Word and his love for Jesus. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Lorene Shaver and his son, Mark E. Shaver. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Shaver; his twin brother, Jerry Shaver (Judy); and brother, Bill Shaver (Diane); his children Jim Shaver (Betsy), Gayla Shaver (Walter), Melissa Smith (Matt), Carey Stapp (Joshua); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons Joey Shaver, Daniel Shaver, and Collin Jones; nephew, Will Shaver; and sons-in-law, Matt Smith and Joshua Stapp. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, 1701 Old Minden Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111.
