STONEWALL, LA- Funeral service for R.C. Landrum, 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Ron Johnson. Interment with military honors presented by the U.S. Army will follow in Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the funeral home.
R.C. was born in Mize, MS on November 19, 1924 to William and Maybelle Landrum. He passed away at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center on June 10, 2014. He was a resident of Stonewall and retired from T.L. James after 30 years of service. He proudly served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army. He participated in battle campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland.
He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Mary Louise Landrum whom he married in 1946; his parents; sisters, Winnie Grantham and Jeannette Blough; brothers, William and Oree Landrum. He is survived by his children, Ann Sinclair and husband, Charles and Larry Landrum and wife, Cherron; brother, Aubert Landrum; grandchildren, Sidney Landrum, Dawn Young and Deodra Gerdin; great-grandchildren, Valentina Young, Annastasia Young, Mia Young, Christian Landrum, Kenneth Landrum, Emma Gerdin and Hampus Gerdin; great-great-grandchildren, Drake Emerson, Delilah Young and Levi Chandler.
