Becky was born January 4, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Calvin O'Neal Allen and Leola Breedlove Allen and passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Becky devoted her life to sharing God\'s word and educating our youth. She began teaching in Alexandria, Louisiana before acting as the Director of Shreve City Baptist Church Preschool program. Becky then found her home at North Highlands Elementary for 30 years until her retirement in 2006. She taught young adults Sunday school at Shreve City Baptist Church for years. The SCBC family always held a special place in her heart. Becky touched countless lives through her loving nature, ministry and teaching. She has taught generations of families over her career. Most of her students still remember her as their favorite teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents and husband of fifty years, Elton "Gene" Nix.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Andrew "Andy" Nix (their only child because "he was perfection") and wife, Emily; grandchildren, Logan Nix, Landon Nix and Lucas "Lucky" Nix; sisters, Calva Leonard and husband, Joel of Sarasota, Florida and Kathy Harvey of Lexington, Kentucky; in-laws, Marvin and Twylla Williams of Bossier City, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Becky as pallbearers Rodney Bonnette, Brad Harper, Les Boyter, Chris Giles, Caleb Martin and Jonathan Beaver Raitano.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cody Williams, Chase Williams, Cory Giles and J.D. Cottle.
The family wishes to express special thanks to her sisters, Calva and Kathy, nieces, Leigh Anne Lotridge, Sarah West, and her namesake, Becky Travels, for their care of Becky and support of our family. We can never repay their sacrifice and love. We are grateful to Cassadie Walker, who has provided love and good eating to Becky over the last few months. They would also like to express a special thanks to the staff at Elara Home Health, Southern Care Hospice and DME Express, especially Brenda, Tammy, Jamie, La Quinta, Jennifer Brian and Mack.
Becky is now reunited with the love of her life walking through the flowers that she promised us she would have in heaven.
