SHREVEPORT, LA - A Celebration of Life service for Rebekah Jean Green Ashley, 65, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA, with Rev. Albert Cummings officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the funeral home.
Rebekah was born January 6, 1953, in Shreveport, LA to Barbara Jean Burleson and William Nelson Green, Sr., and passed away February 5, 2018, in Shreveport, LA. She was a devout Christian, a prayer warrior who was faithful until the end. Rebekah was employed for 25 years with Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. Her daughter was her pride and joy, as well as the love of family and friends.
Rebekah is preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Nelson Green, her daughter Cynthia Ashley, and her sister Deborah Sansom. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Carolyn (Korkie) Stanfield and husband Charles; brother, Sonny Green and wife Carolyn; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Honoring Rebekah as pallbearers will be Stacy Sansom, Robert Green, Kenneth Perkins, Huel Jones, Chris Jones and Ronnie Cummings. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Stanfield, Josh Carroll and Andrew Hall.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Shreveport Fire Department, the Doctor's and staff at Willis Knighton North and Aime Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
