Rebekah Ann Johnson of Rocky Mount went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and beloved husband JC on October 22, 2016.
Ann was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on June 30, 1932 to Lois and Leroy Jones. The Jones family moved to the Rocky Mount community where Ann, her two sisters and brother all graduated from Rocky Mount High School. Ann continued her education at Northwestern State University where she played basketball and earned her nursing degree. As a registered nurse, Ann served others in clinics, hospitals and local schools within the Bossier-Caddo community. Ann played an important part in establishing the Bossier Parish School Nursing Program. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher of over 44 years and loved to sing in the choir. She and JC were both blessed to attend Pilgrim Home Baptist Church of Ivan.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 56 years, John C Johnson and her sister Bobbye Scarborough. Left to cherish her memory are sister Janice Harrist of Bradley, Arkansas, brother Parnell Jones and wife Judy of Rocky Mount, daughters Sheila Manning and Daphne Ballard of Benton and son John Johnson of Panama City, Florida.
Ann (Nanny) was loved by her 13 grandchildren; Bubba, JC, Alicia, Tiffany, Quin, Jim, Amanda, Christie, Harley, Hannah, Katie, Caleb and Michael and 17 great grandchildren.
