Rebekah A Rogers

SHREVEPORT, LA-Rebekah Anne Rogers went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2014. A memorial service honoring her precious life will be held at Ellerbe Road Baptist Church on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dennis Sims, Rebekah's pastor, and visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Rebekah was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 11, 1997 to Evan and Alicia Rogers. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings Rachel, Ethan and Isabelle. She is also survived by grandparents Bill and Carolyn Rainer and Barbara Rogers; aunts and uncles Lori Rainer, Vanessa Rainer, Connie and Dick Monette and Deanna and Scott Rasnic; and cousins Amber Dent, Matthew Monette, Hannah Monette and Gabriel Rasnic. Rebekah was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather ("Papa"), Elgie E. Rogers. Rebekah attended Caddo Magnet High School where she was preparing to begin her senior year. She enjoyed music, art, watching movies, playing the piano and spending time with her family and friends. Rebekah loved animals, and she especially enjoyed playing with her cat, Josie. Rebekah was a member of Ellerbe Road Baptist Church. Her relationship with Christ was very important to her, and God's light shined through her wherever she went. She regularly used social media to convey her faith in Christ and to share God's word. She was truly a beautiful, loving young woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. While Rebekah's sudden departure from this life has left her family and friends with tremendous grief and unspeakable sadness, her loved ones take comfort that she is rejoicing with her Lord in heaven. She influenced many with her beautiful smile, kind and loving heart, sense of humor, helpful nature, tender and sensitive spirit and her faith in Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. They long for the day when they will see her again.   "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10   Rose-Neath Southside 2500 Southside Drive 318-687-1256
