Jean was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 16, 1937. After graduating high school, she went to work for the civil service at Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebraska where she met the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Neucere who was stationed at Offutt. They were married on February 23, 1957, and over the next few years raised four children while moving from Nebraska to Ohio, Japan, and Texas. Joe retired from the USAF in 1973 and the family settled in Shreveport where Joe went to work for the USPS. They joined the St. Mary of the Pines and family in 1973 when the church was in its infancy. Joe and Jean were devoted to their Catholic faith and lived a life of service. Jean was a member of The Catholic Daughter’s Court Castile #197, KC Ladies Axillary, Saint Francis of Rome Circle, and WRC of Shreveport-Louisiana Federation of Republican Women. For over 20 years, Jean visited Heritage Manor South Nursing Home on the third Thursday of each month to serve cake, punch and provide music to the residents whose birthdays fell within that month. Jean went to work for General Motors in 1983 and retired in 2002. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Everyone who knew Jean loved her.
