Castor, LA - Celebration of life and going home service for Reginald Moore, 92, will be Saturday, January17, 2015, at the Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel at 2:00 PM with Bro. James Nailes officiating assisted by Bro. Preston Young. Interment will follow at Social Springs Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home in Coushatta.
Reginald was born and raised in Marthaville, LA, on April 2, 1922, and passed away January 15, 2015, at his residence in Castor, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Eura Moore; wife, Nona Mae Moore; brothers, Warren Moore, Ray Moore, and Tommy Moore; sisters, Evelyn Davis, Janell Moore, and Dorothy Heatherington and granddaughter, Racheal Stewart.
Survivors include his daughter, Regina Swint and husband, Paul, step-son, Calvin Perkins and wife, Sue and adopted through love, son, Dexter Parks, all of Castor, LA; step-sons, Warren Perkins, and wife, Sherry and Robert Perkins and wife, Kaye, all of Hall Summit, LA; 15 grandchildren, Riley Swint, Jaid Swint, Steven Swint, Johnathan Parks and wife, Amanda, John Perkins and wife, Elizabeth, Donnie Perkins and wife, Phyllis, Kathy Comeaux and husband, Vince, Greg Perkins and wife, Lisa, Melinda Perkins and Donna Perkins; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Gordon Moore, Bob Moore and wife, Paula, Dale Moore and wife, Bonnie; sisters, Mildred Holden and Clotile Noble.
Reginald was born the oldest of twelve children. He completed the fifth and sixth grade in the same year. After that, he had to quit school and help work and help take care of the family. He was always embarrassed because of the lack of education. He did not realize that even without a good education, he was a very intelligent man. He was a very successful business man. He loved the timber industry and owned his own logging business for fifty plus years. He helped a lot of people during his life. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is loved and will be missed by many. Serving as pallbearers will be Smith Mullens, Brad McCoy, Billy Wayne Guin, Ted Singletary, Merle Cheatwood, and Mark Hay.
