Funeral services for Huey Paul Ray, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. McKee Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the NW LA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the funeral home. Huey was born January 26, 1933 in King, AR to Charles and Rebekkah Ray and passed away on February 16, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign War. Huey loved collecting coins, singing, and playing guitar. Huey was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walker Ray and Clifford Ray; and sisters, Carmen Melvin and Lily Bowden. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Quida Mayton and husband Carlton and Sherry Echols and husband Harold; grandchildren, Samuel Waldrop, Hal Echols, Amanda Echols, Carla Mayton, and Amy Mayton; and brother, Charles Ray and wife JoAnn. Pallbearers will be Carlton Mayton, Charles Ray, David Ray, Eddie Melvin, Ryan Mack, and A.J. O\'Con.
