On Sunday, July 2, 2023, Reuben Wright Collier III, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 49.

Reuben was born on October 22, 1973, on Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi to Reuben W. Collier Jr and Hong Thu Nguyen Collier Nelson.  He attended Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS BUNKER HILL homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.  He was a painter by trade.

Reuben had a great passion for playing the guitar.  He had amassed a nice collection of guitars and played daily.  His playing brought him much comfort and joy.  He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Reuben was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nguyen Van Hoa and Ngo Thi Rot; paternal grandparents, Reuben W. Collier and Bessie Virginia Collier Vercher; uncles, Trung Nguyen and Tom Collier and aunts, Shirley Massey and Sybil Wood

He is survived by his parents and his brother, Stephen M. Collier of New Orleans, Louisiana.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to your local Suicide Crisis Center.
