SUMMERFIELD, LA: Funeral services were held for Rev. B. F. Middleton, Jr., 89, at Summerfield High School gymnasium in Summerfield, LA on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tracy Boyd and Rev. Michael Brandon, officiating. Interment will followed at Summerfield Cemetery. The family received friends in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 405 East 5th Street in Homer on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
Rev. Middleton was born September 5, 1927 in Pioneer, LA to Bertha Davis and Benjamin Franklin Middleton, Sr. He entered into rest Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home in Summerfield, LA. Rev. Middleton ministered in the Abundant Life Holiness Church and retired from Claiborne Parish School Board where he worked in maintenance.
Rev. Middleton was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Ben Middleton; 2 sisters, Mary Eldridge and Martha Louise Middleton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Verda Mae Jones Middleton; 4 sons, Bill Middleton and wife Diane, Dale Middleton and wife Kathy both of Calhoun, LA, Steven Middleton of Summerfield and Paul Middleton of Amity, AR; 4 sisters, Ottie Westerburg of Jackson, MS, Erma Owens, Myrtis Poole, Elaine Harville all of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Lance Middleton, J. P. Middleton, Casey Middleton, Tyler Wyrick, William Smith and Gary Jones.
Honorary pallbearer were Michael Middleton, Josh Matthews, Brad Vik, Hecter Salinas, Craig Harville and Billy Jones.
