SHREVEPORT, LA - A celebration of the life of Rev. Arthur Michael McGee will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Church On The Rock in Shreveport, where he was pastor. Officiating will be Rev. Lynn Foster, Shreveport; Rev. David Kimsey, Pineville, LA; Rev. Steve Barley, Houston, TX; Rev. Glen Davis, Dallas, TX, and Rev. Joe Wright, Henderson, KY. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Church On The Rock.
Mike was born December 22, 1941 in Oil City, LA to Arthur Adam McGee and Pauline Mae Jones McGee. He died March 22, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. He spent 58 years in ministry, with 49 of those years as a pastor. Mike McGee was a great man of God, who brought hundreds, if not thousands, to know Jesus Christ. Mike attended Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN and received his BA from Central Christian University in Blytheville, AR. He served 24 years in the United Pentecostal Church and served as Home Missions Director of the Colorado District, where he planted 14 churches. He planted his 15th church in 1986 when he founded Church On The Rock in Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Lynn McGee and sister, Paula McGee Sessum.
Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Faye McGee of Shreveport, LA; son, Stephen McGee of South Orange, NJ; stepson, Billy Bostwick of Minden, LA; daughter, Stephanie McGee Kissner and husband, Alan of Montrose, CO; sisters, Melrie Lodestro,, Becky McGee, and Sharon Kunzman all of Shreveport, LA; brothers, Ronnie McGee of Bossier City, LA and Earl McGee of Shreveport, LA.
Honoring Mike as pallbearers will be nephews, Victor, Kip and Harmon Carson, Chris and Kenneth Hayes, David and Jeff McGee and Steven Kunzman.
