For more than 21 years he served as a chaplain with Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries which serves persons with mental disabilities. He also served as a volunteer chaplain with Willis-Knighton Health Center, and officiated services for individuals without pastors. In his later years, much of his spiritual fulfillment was gained while ministering to the residents of MontClair Assisted Living/Memory Care facility. During his life he was an Eagle Scout, a Pro-Life champion (yes, he has been arrested for his beliefs), and an auxiliary deputy for the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office. Highlights in his life were being a member of Men of Prayer in Stonewall, Louisiana, and an active member of the Thursday Morning Bible Study Group. He enjoyed reading his bible daily and has been able to read through the bible every year for many years.
